I am a Graduate 'B" Pony Clubber with the United States Pony Club and as such am on record with U.S.P.C., plus, I have the banner for the San Francisco Pony Club hanging inside my Townhouse at Parkmerced.  Reminded of the founding of that Pony Club as my mother Melba Meakin did it for me and my friends to have what she referred to "as health".  This all took place at the Golden Gate Park Stables in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. In fact our first parade took place on John F. Kennedy Drive!!  What fun and I remember riding my P.O.A. (Pony of America) Freckles and marching down that drive while all the people lined the sides all the way down to just under the overpass at 19th (Avenue).  In double fact, me and another kid riding a pony carried that sign and it was challenging however we did get the hang of it, my first and last parade was great fun, as such and due to the serious nature of my mother and her prowess my training continued in Pony Club as she opened our second Pony Club with U.S.P.C. in Montara, 22 miles from town.

There my mother, Arthur Royce Paddock and dg Garrett brought in Trainers and invited all the local kids to participate as I had lost all my friends in a single day;

Guyana had to big of an impact on my mother's life on that day where I just fell into a stun.  I lost to much and at the time I did not realize that it would never be normal, my friends dead and making new friends would be difficult as people, the public at-large would always relate me to that horror, my mother knew though, so did Art and dg.  Those three took the bull by the horns so to speak and made a wonderful decision, they took me from Golden Gate Park and developed more than a plan in Montara, California those three made my riding career a master carriage and my training took me to grand places.  I am a three-day event rider that has been fortunate enough to train and clinic with Olympic riders and judges.  At the time I declined to teach as in-order to go to the Olympics one had to remain a amateur, this was my focus, this was the plan.  Oddly, this plan has taken so interesting turns as the Olympics turned professional knocking the amateur completely out, the result is that the professional dictates the Games and obviously professionals already had the money to go do anything leaving again the amateur out in the cold, I felt death as the stun stifled November 18, 1978 and tore November 27, 1978 from my memory delivering only.
